I confess I want Tim Gunn's wardrobe. Its always crisp & dapper - always bellowing classic. The checker jackets with a solid bronze tie, the solid red jacket with a striped tie - melding ornate with base, producing the perfect balance. Never too much & never too little. 

This space is oft reserved for the meandering of my weekly wonderment, but every so often an artist or song comes around that begs to be highlighted. This time around its Diplo's 'About That Life' featuring Jahan Lennon. Diplo you say? Yes, and while he has been showered with every golden laurel - as of late his favela escapada & Nolia clap has left a flat, leftover taste. 

Even 'Express Yourself', minus its amazing dance moves, felt out of place - much like his contributions on MAYA. However with 'About That Life' displays a return to form in a sense for Diplo. With its obvious cues from Desi culture, 'About That Life' accomplishes a melodic, transcendentalist middle-finger to the many of us who had tired. 

Deal with him, Hemingway, deal with him!!

Garble, Garble

For the past few weeks, there has been a lot of chatter around CHick-Fil-A - escalating with Boston Mayor, Thomas Menino's inspiring (albeit illegal) rejection of the chain restaurant from the city. While this ban will never go through, there is something to this. That is... more than ever LGBTQ rights are apart of mainstream values - as they should have always been. 

So even in the midst of Chicken Little's rant there will always be those who deny suspended logic. And I'd like to think when it came down to it, most of us would rely on civility over belief. A cheers then - to suspended disbelief.
