MP3: New Look - Nap on the Bow
Sarah Ruba is a singer/songwriter/international fashion model. Adam Pavao is the lucky asshole that got to marry her and make music to go along with her dope voice. Together they make up the band New Look and play kickass future-pop music.

MP3: Ango - Better For You (Ruckazoid remix)
Unfortunately this track is only available if you buy the 12" from LuckyMe records, so for now the youtube version will have to do because goddamn this song is sexy.
MP3: Bobby Womack - Please Forgive My Heart
Just in case you missed it, this one is important: Damon Albarn and Richard Russell are co-producing an album with Bobby Womack that is set to come out in June. Following the success that Jamie XX had reinterpreting Gil Scott-Heron's work last year, this album will hopefully continue to prove that R&B still has more to contribute to the future of the music industry.

MP3: Chase and Status ft. Delilah - Time (Queensway Remix)
It's easy to get caught up in the blogosphere-culture expectations of only posting tunes that are super-fresh and ahead of the curve--especially with the kind of music we post here. But in the interest of promoting and sharing really good music, I think it's important to have some humility and honesty when deciding which songs need to shared. That said, I remember Chase and Status doing an enjoyable (albeit, kind of cheesy) song together last year, but I never heard this remix by Kolja Queensway Shvets...and it's been haunting my headphones all week. This remix spotlights everything Queensway can do with his drumnbass talents, but it's really the way Delilah's vocal track was mixed over and in between the echoes and vibrations that makes me tingle when I listen to it. Kudos Kolja.

MP3: Stay Ali - Oh Tom
"Stay Ali is a trio from Sweden, that creates catchy electronic music. The band consists of Bård Ericson, Elias Smeds and Johan Vati Graden, all born in 1991 in Stockholm. The band started off as a joke back in 2006, but has evolved into something much more serious."
Totally serious, I love whatever these guys are evolving into. This track epitomizes the range of the Stay Ali sound: it grooves, it moves, it gets a little weird, and then it all comes back together.

MP3: Starcadian - He^rt
I should have posted this way back when it was sent to us because I have literally listened to it almost every day since I've had it. To me, this Starcadian track settles into that common ground between warm moodiness and the darkness of space, a sensation I would compare to that comfortable yet disconnected feeling of sitting in the sunlight while on pain killers. Sounds kind of like an Air composition (like, good Air) but with a robot-synth edge that lets it blast off...well, more like just burn slowly.
Feeling the blood pump, watching the lights fly by, really digging this.

MP3: The Drums - Days (Trentemøller Remix)
In my opinion, remixing indie-rock songs is always risky business...and I think those who can do it successfully have to possess a certain level of real music skillz to pull it off. Obviously Trentemoller has loads of skillz, but his ability to take this song by The Drums, select out exactly what he needs, then reconstruct a cohesive track that is moody and affective without any of that indie-rock whininess, is a perfect example of why this genre of music is a genuine form of art. I don't mean to hate on The Drums (I'm sure they are a very talented group of individuals) but I can't imagine why anyone would listen to the original while this re-interpreted version exists in the world.
