Plastic Plates brings another opening ray of California sunshine to our latest Pants Dance, Vol. 3 2011. The Human League, otherwise known for their 80's hit 'Don't You Want Me', have just released their 9th studio album, and first record in 10 years.

New Zealand songstress Kimbra first splashed on to the blog scene as the feature voice in Miami Horror's 'I Look to You' single last summer. Since then she's gained enormous momentum, scoring a record deal with Warner Brothers for her new album 'Vows, due out in early 2012. Firming her foothold in good tase, she asked G.L.O.V.E.S. to do this splendid disco remix of her new single Cameo Lover.

This simple Solomun edit enlivens the percussion to a level that can properly sustain Jamie's voice, transforming the original tempo from something admittedly drab into one of the better songs we've heard this year.

Swollen horns and vocal vibraphones...
This sweet convergence of folk and funk is no surprise from RAC, who once again demonstrate their knack for stellar production and soft touches which, fortunately for us all, harmonize perfectly with Alex Winston's standout vocal style.

Crystal Fighters let the tropipop rain tears fall harder and harder, flowering into what is likely our favorite finish to any song this year.

We can't be sure what Jonathan Johansson is singing about; but musically, if you were ever left by love on a stormy day only to have the clouds part to reveal a brilliant sun, bathing you with the realization that you're better off anyway, Niva's work here would probably be the perfect soundtrack to that moment.

Amtrac guides a rapid, crunchy beat and electric piano figures to a thoroughly mature songwriting space. He's restless, though. This poise quickly evolves into spliced samples flickering across the track in microtonal dots -- a true dancefloor deconstruction. His Came Along LP comes out September 27.

Dance-pop in its most irresistible form. Two alluring vocalists, a driving beat, and an incredibly catchy refrain make for a dark dream from which you won't want to wake up.
