2. Siriusmo - 16 Wow (Modeselektor Edit)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Modeselektor slows this Siriusmo jam down to just the right tempo and stacks it up with a wall of bass. This three minute lift-off will have you coming back for more.
3. Bombay Bicycle Club - Always Like This (Starsmith Remix)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
This hidden gem was released way back in March '10. Starsmith mirrors the almost atonal vocals with slippery synths in his remix of this stellar indie-pop track by the British Vampire Weekend(!)
4. Neon Indian - Mind, Drips (Bibio Remix)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Bibio's Mind Drips remix is like a novel in itself, climaxing into an abrasive second minute of dark marching sirens, and blossoming out into an incredibly beautiful chime sprinkled refrain.

Cheesy, triumphant outer-space disco and an even cheesier outer space disco screen video. <3 it!
6. Fol Chen - In Ruins (Baths Remix)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Baths' hazy masterpiece really merits and illustrates Fol Chen's brilliant lyrical work here:
"Looking round the streets tonight / Everything's in ruins / You look good by siren light / Baby what you doing"

MMMthais' bouncy and frenetic instrumental magic is a great match for this Teenagers-esque vocal from I'm Not A Band, perfectly capturing the feeling of love-and-hate.

There's a definite Michael Jackson influence in this vocal, and not only because it is catchy as hell. Penguin Prison strikes gold again, with the help of Boxed In.

Nothing makes us happy like a good build, and here's an excellent example: Rainbows of Death serves up a 5-minute booty-shaker where no moment sounds quite like any other.

It's fresh, it's super funky, and it's French. Need we say more? Ah oui? Well did we mention the seductively whispered bridge that really getsour blood pumping?

15. Alpine - Icypoles (Star Slinger Dreamix)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Star Slinger is an artist to watch in 2011. The 24-year-old Briton combines hyper-edited vocal mixes (think early Kanye with an indie rock flair) with psychedelic beats reminiscent of J Dilla and Flying Lotus. Needless to say, the music this guy makes is farily epic, and you can get it all for free on his website!

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Whether it be through his One Day Later show or his countless disco remixes and edits, Vancouver's U-Tern has been a consistent and reliable source of solid, original disco house. He does it again here, and in the process transforms a cringe-worthy original into a certified banger.
